EMX 125 & WMX
Round 5 of the EMX125 and WMX Championship that took place at Lacapelle Marival in France over the weekend.
EMX125
Moritz Ernecker and Ricardo Bauer from the Norman KTM Racing Team had brilliant results from the weekend. In race one Moritz would have a fantastic star taking the holeshot and leading the race from start to finish. Not even a downed rider would get in his way for the win. Ricardo would not have the same luck with a bad start and coming out of lap one in P12. He slowly found his rhythm and started making his way to the front. Just unable to catch the leader Ricardo would finish in P2, just under 2 seconds behind Moritz.
Race two Ernecker would have another holeshot start but it was Bauer would put down an impressive start sitting in P2 after the first lap. Ricardo would soon after take the lead all the way to the end crossing the line 1st with Ernecker in P3. This gap would allow Ricardo to take the overall top spot of the podium for round 5 of the championship with Moritz in P2.
Ricardo Bauer: “In the first race I didn't have a good start, but managing to come through from mid-pack to second was actually pretty amazing. Today I had a pretty good start, managed to stay at the front for almost the whole moto, so I'm pretty happy about it.”

Moritz Ernecker: “It was a clay weekend, I would say. The first moto was good, I took the win, so yeah. The second moto, maybe I took not so good lines and wasn't fast enough. But I'm happy to still take the second overall and still keep the red plate.”

Leaving the weekend Moritz currently leads the 2026 EMX125 Championship with 223 points, 38 points ahead of team mate Ricardo.

WMX
Daniela Guillen is a rider from the Mequitec GASGAS Spanish Racing Team who is racig in the WMX class. Pre-race Daniela shares that sh eis happy with her pre-season training and to be back with the team. She feels more mature and confident heading into this season and as much as she has a goal to win she is going to take tit one race at a time. For race one Daniela had a great result of P2. Heading into race two he was determined to push hard and in the end it paid off with a P1 across the line. It was a tough battle all weekend between Daniela and closest rival Kiara Fontanesi but looking at the overall it would be Daniela on the top in P1. This is her first win and a well deserved victory for the talented female rider. Many smiles and a lot of champagne on the podium. She will be taking the red plate to Germany for the next round.

Ronan hadn’t ridden tis track since last year but enjoyed the track and definitely felt the hot weather over the weekend. Race 1 he came first with a 5 second lead. Race 2 wasn’t the best start in 15th but pushed though to 4th until an unfortunate crash. Race 3 he was in 4th but spun out and had to work back to 7th. Race 4 he lead the race by 20 seconds to the finish. Forest shared that he is still feeling a variety of emotions with racing but believes he’ll be back to his usual self in no time. He had a decent weekend finishing P7 overall. |
