MXGP EMX125 and 250

Round two of the EMX125 took place in Switzerland over the weekend at Frauenfeld. The Norman KTM Factory Rookies Team, Ricardo Bauer and Moritz Ernecker had great racing all weekend leading a very stacked field of EMX125 riders. Overnight rain resulted in some extremely muddy conditions resulted in long ruts and very deep mud that was extremely demanding. Ultimately this was a weekend that the entire team had been working towards.

Ricardo Bauer absolutely dominated racing over the weekend. In race one he took the hole shot and never looked back. He lead the race all the way to the finish with almost an 8 second head ahead of his team mate Moritz. This would be his first victory of 2026 and first ever EMX125 win. In race two Bauer did a great job with a decent start and work his way through the pack to finish in 2nd. Reflecting on his weekend Ricardo shared that he couldn’t feel better. His weekend didn’t go without some issues and a crash but made his was back up and it was the best he could have done. He leaves Switzerland in 1st overall and has moved into 2nd in the championship standings.

Moritz Ernecker headed into this round as the championship points leader and certainly with a target on his back. Race one was a fight all the way to the finish with Goyer but showcased some brilliant racing from Moritz who finished in 2nd. Mortiz shared that the second moto was very muddy but he was happy to still get points with a 7th position. It was a chaotic weekend and he felt that he just didn’t quite find his flow but is happy to head into round 3 still holding the red plate and a 3rd overall for the weekend.

The Mequitec GASGAS Spanish Racing Team made up of Adrià Monné, Manuel López Carreras, Jordi Alba, and Pau Caudet, successfully achieved their first major goal of the weekend: securing direct qualification for the races. In very close qualifying sessions, all four riders finished within the top 40. In EMX125, Jordi Alba posted the sixth fastest time and Pau Caudet the tenth, while in EMX250, Adrià Monné was eleventh and Manuel López Carreras eighteenth.

In the EMX125 class Jordi Alba once again demonstrated his speed with two excellent starts within the top 3, running in leading positions for much of both heats. He ultimately crossed the finish line in ninth and twelfth positions. Pau Caudet had to overcome two difficult starts from the back of the pack. Through sheer effort and overtaking, he managed to climb to 17th and 9th positions, delivering a remarkable performance. Overall both riders placed within the top 10 with Jordi Alba in sixth position and Pau Caudet in tenth.

In the EMX250 class, both Adrià Monné and Manuel López Carreras started from the back of the grid, which affected their results. Monné had two solid comebacks to finish 14th and 10th, while López Carreras finished in 22nd and 30th position. Overall Adrià Monné finished in eleventh and Manuel López Carreras in thirty-third.

ACU British Enduro Championship

The start of the British Enduro Championship took place at Jack Frost Enduro over the weekend at Rhayader Motor Club in Wales. Riders started with track walk on Friday ahead of two days of racing counting as separate rounds both with the chance to earn much desired points.

Dan Mundell is our Plews supported rider who took to the track in the Elite Championship class. Saturday brought cold weather and hail storms and Sunday had consistent rain.

Dan did not have the opening day he had hope with an unfortunate crash in the first test after heading into a section that had changed since the previous day’s track walk. After this he wasn’t quite able to catch up to the leading group. This day consisted of 4 laps with Dan finishing in 5th position.

Day 2 on Sunday had some very wet conditions for the riders which made the rock sections and overall conditions just that much tougher. Due to wet conditions the race was reduced from 4 laps to 3 for the Championship class. Dan was able to keep his racing consistent and finished with another 5th position.
