2026 SuperEnduro Season Kicks Off: First race win for Watson in Poland

2026 SuperEnduro Season Kicks Off: First race win for Watson in Poland

If you’re new to Super Enduro, heres a quick breakdown. It’s a sport filled with speed, adrenaline, epic falls, and electrifying wins. Riders race on a track made up of boulders, wooden beams, concrete pipes, logs, jumps, large tires and tons of dirt! Races are referred to as “finals”. Lastly, here are 7-8 rounds per season where riders fight to bank points and end the season as the world champion.
The 2026 SuperEnduro season started with a bang on December 13th, 2025 in Gliwice, Poland with 99 riders in the arena. We have Plews supported riders in all 4 classes or classifications: the European Cup, Youth, Junior and Prestige. The following is a race report and breakdown of the 1st and opening round of an exciting season ahead.

European Cup

The European Cup classification doesn't attend all rounds of the season and has only 2 finals per event. Race time for these riders is 5 minutes + 1 lap. We have Alessandro Azzalini racing with number 27 on a KTM as our Plews supported rider.

Starting the event Azzalini qualified in 5th which is a solid position for the first final. Soon after the start he is able to push into 3rd taking some great inside lines. By halfway through he’s pressuring Broniewski in 3rd position who falls and opens the door to move up into 2nd. Unfortunately Azzalini would not be able to hold this position due to a crash in the Matrix section while fighting with Broniewski. Azzalini would miss the podium due to this crash but still a great result finishing in 5th with 11 points.

Final 2 would be a much better race for Alessandro. After a great start he is sitting in 2nd place by the end of lap 1. Zsigovits who was sitting in 3rd would not give up so easily and after a tight battle Azzalini would drop back to 3rd once again in the Matrix section. A strong ride from Alessandro secures him 3rd result with 15 points. Azzalini leaves Poland and round 1 in 3rd overall in the European Cup classification with 26 points. He is sitting 2 points behind 2nd and 2 points ahead of 4th heading into round 2.

Youth

Last season was the first time the youth classification was introduced to Super Enduro where young riders are on 125CC bikes. Heading into a new season we see this class having 2 finals per events with a ride time of 5 minutes + 1 lap. We have Conner Watson racing with number 38 on a Sherco as our Plews supported rider. In the 2024/2025 season Conner was a top contender coming in 4th overall and 3 podiums out of the 5 rounds. A strong rider who was just not able to take a number one spot in the previous season. Without a doubt connect heads into Round 1 with a mission.

Starting the event Watson qualified in 4th which set’s him up in a great position for final 1. Unfortunately Connor would not have a great start and would end up stuck in the middle of the pack during the first corner chaos. With 1 and a half minutes to go he is sitting in 9th after overtaking Inguss Supe. Just before the finish Connor takes one more shot to move up in the rankings and overtakes on the last lap to finish in 6th position with 10 points.

Final 2 would be a “reverse start” which has riders starting in the reverse order of the previous race results. While this may not be an ideal start, Conner comes out the gate on absolute fire and with an aggressive start he takes the holeshot! Watson sits in 1st starting to build a gap ahead of Luca Kropitsch in 2nd. Kropitsch makes a mistake which allows Connor to continue to pull away and with 1 lap to go he has a 7 second lead. VICTORY! Connor Watson crosses the finish line in 1st, taking his first win in a Super Cross event. An absolute achievement earning him 20 points. Conner heads into the next round in 3rd overall and with 30 points. He is 4 points behind 2nd and 4 points ahead of 4th.

Junior

The 2024/2025 season was the first time we saw the junior classification. This is a very competitive class with young riders looking to prove themselves before heading to the Prestige classification. Unlike the Youth riders, the Junior riders have 3 finals per event with a ride time of 6 minutes + 1 lap. We have Toby Shaw racing with number 24 on a Gasgas as our Plews supported rider. This is his second season in the Junior classification after finishing in 4th in the 2024/2025 season

Heading into Final 1, Toby qualifies in 11th but makes his way up to 6th position after the first lap. A tight battle with Ramón Godino has the riders bumping bars but it would be a 3 rider collision that would result in a fall and a drop back to 8th. Toby pushes to the finish and crosses the line in 7th with 9 points. Final 2 is a reverse grid start which Shaw would find challenging seen by a bad start and a back of the pack position. Keeping his head down and riding smoothly, Toby makes his way through to 5th with a minute and a half to go. A good battle between Shaw and Alex Puey just before the finish is the perfect opportunity for Toby to push past and finish in 4th with 13 points.

Final 3 was the last shot for Toby to really set himself up for a solid overall position. He finishes lap 1 in 4th and after a battle with Manuel Gomez he makes his way to 2nd. Toby is able to hold this position to the end and crosses the line in 2nd position with 17 points. Shaw leaves Poland and round 1 in 3rd overall in the Junior classification with 39 points. He is sitting 2 points behind 2nd and is tied with 4th heading into round 2.

Prestige

Without a doubt the most competitive class in Super Enduro. The Prestige classification is filled with top names in the industry. A Super Enduro champion on a winning streak and multiple champions on the starting grid for the season opener, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Prestige riders have 3 finals per event with a ride time of 6 minutes + 1 lap. We have 2 Plews supported riders to follow this season. Diogo Vieira is a seasoned veteran with invaluable experience under his belt. This season he is riding with number 21 on a Gas gas. Marc Fernandez, our 2024/2025 Junior Super Enduro Champion. After an incredible season, Marc is heading into this classification for the first time to show that he belongs. This season he is riding with number 56 on a Gas gas.

Final 1 kicked off with a roar into the first corner. A challenging race for many riders with a chaotic multi rider battle. Marc would find himself in 8th position with 8 points and Diogo in 13th with 3 points. Final 2 presented a great opportunity for both riders with a reverse grid start and without a doubt both riders would take full advantage of a front row start. Right out the gate we had Viera in 2nd after a great start and straight into the lead by the end of lap 1. Fernandez would find himself in 2nd battling with Billy Bolt and Jonny Walker. Both riders would fall back into 3rd and 4th respectively battle together. A couple battles along the way would result in Viera finishing in 5th with 11 points and Marc in 7th with 9 points.

Final 3 is where it was time to put it all on the line for these two riders. Both riders unfortunately would not have the greatest start with Marc in 11th and Viera in 9th. A tough push to the finish Viera would finish in 10th with 6 points and Marc in 12th with 4 points. It was expected for competition in this opening round to be fierce and the event absolutely delivered. Overall Marc leaves Poland in 9th with 21 points. He is 4 points behind 8th and only 1 point a head of Diogo who is sitting in 10th position with 20 points.

For Marc Fernandez moving into the prestige class is a dream come true since watching these riders on the TV when he was young. He is confident about his pre-season preparation and excited to learn from the best. His goal for the event was a top 10 position overall and he’s happy with his results heading into round 2.
