EMX 125 & EMX250
Round three of the EMX125 championship took place in Sardinia, Italy over the weekend with high-intensity racing at the demanding Riola Sardo circuit. The deep sand, rough lines and technical sections tested the limits of Europe’s rising stars.
Moritz Ernecker and Ricardo Bauer are our Plews supported riders racing for the Norman KTM Racing Team. This weekend both riders showed their speed and ability to maintain consistent under pressure.
Moritz started his weekend with the fastest time in his practice group and took the confidence from this into race one where he started in second place and took an opportunity halfway through the race to put himself into the lead. He would finish this race at the front and gain maximum points. In race two Moritz took the holeshot and led for most of the race. Close to the end of the race he wasn’t able to hold onto the lead and crossed the line in second. With a 1-2 finish, he claimed the overall win on 47 points. The overall result strengthens his hold on the red plate, as he extends his advantage in the championship standings after three rounds.
Moritz Ernecker: “Yeah, it was a really good weekend. To be still the red plate, so I think also I gained a lot of points this weekend. So yeah, I'm really happy about this weekend and looking forward to the next races.”
Ricardo Bauer had a challenging weekend in Sardinia after being sick the week leading up to the race. His weekend started well demonstrating that he has the speed by setting the fastest time in his practice group. In the first race he had a decent start in 12th before a collision with another rider pushed his back to 34th. He pushed hard to work his way up through the pack and made it into the top 10 before another crash forced him to retire. In race two Ricardo bounced back well starting just outside the top 5 and despite a couple mistakes he crossed the line in third behind his team mate.

The Mequitec GASGAS Spanish Racing Team made up of Adrià Monné, Manuel López Carreras, Jordi Alba, and Pau Caudet, had a challenging weekend in the Sardinia sand.
In EMX125, Jordi Alba race consistently finishing 31st in race one and 26th in race two. Overall he walks away from the weekend in 30th position. Pau Caudet also had consistent results with a 25th in race one and a 33rd in race two. Overall he finished in 33rd position.

EMX250, Adrià Monné shared that he felt it was a tricky weekend and expected that the sand would be a challenge. He had a really goo start in race one and managed to cross the lie in 21st. In race two he had an unfortunate fall which resulted in damage to the bike and needing to retire. He finished in 34th. Overall he leaves the weekend with a 36th position. Manuel López Carreras finished 29th in race one and was one of the few riders to improve his position in the second race finished 27th. Overall he sits in 30th. He reflected on his weekend sharing that it was not where he or the team wanted to be but ultimately he learnt a lot and knows where he can improve for the next round.
Next weekend, the Championship continues in Trentino, Italy.
